Each week, download the PPT and complete 1 page for each of the 10 new or interesting words you find in your readings. Half of your words can be from your K12 lessons. The other half must come from your independent reading book. Use the example below to guide you.

"Dropout" made me think of some poor dumb-looking hoodlum wandering the streets breaking out street lights---it didn't fit my happy-go-lucky brother at all.
Hoodlum - Someone who is a criminal who enjoys breaking the law and destroying property for fun.

Vocabulary List - Word Games


  1. On a word document create a numbered list of all your vocabulary words. (Hint: For most of you, there should be 30)
  2. Go to Discovery Ed Puzzlemaker and create at least 1 word search, 1 criss cross, and 1 double puzzle using your vocabulary words.
  3. After you create each puzzle, copy and paste the puzzle onto a word document and title it Vocabulary Word Puzzles Your Name. doc
